Another Breakup Song

Another Breakup Song

Bhopal dirt muzzled by Dow
Mocando slick B.P. silence out the sounds
Dollar per barrel make the pump growl
My environment and I are breaking up now

Million year relationship soured on the vine
Withered with pesticides like Kool-Aid strychnine
The red fat man comes busting through the wall
Somebody else will clean it up, before the profits fall

Externality, interlinked causalities
Macro economic assurance technicalities
Industry hall pass, tragedy world class
Another species’ generation won’t last

Bhopal dirt muzzled by Dow
Mocando slick B.P. silence out the sounds
Dollar per barrel make the pump growl
My environment and I are breaking up now

Butterfly migration lost in Mexico
Arctic Terns with no place to go
Food chains, factory farm
Antibiotics inject bovine arms

All in the kingdom of the Burger King
Serve ourselves on the platter, before we think
Reject the mathematics of the food pyramid
Flip the addiction of consumption on its head

Bhopal dirt muzzled by Dow
Mocando slick B.P. silence out the sounds
Dollar per barrel make the pump growl
My environment and I are breaking up now
