Duality Complicity

Duality Complicity

I do not see your half in her
You do not see my half in lines
We are mutually blind, ignoring all those pains
That define

What was and no longer is
The path between pain and kids
Laughing in the yard, growing older
In the shards of, a family broken

I did forgive you in a land once spoken
Out in the space of her hairs wild and sparkling
Like bubbles in a wine glass darkening
The tannins eclipse the taste turned bitter and tense

Innocence a bartered sense of time exchanged
Virgin to blame the land of the lion tamed
And stamped inside her chest to carve out the breathes
To forget the duplicity in the reminisced complicity

In her makeup and mark down that you and I are
Both here in this show down of states and I just want this
Town to break into song and get this dirge gone
The death of this death the wash over of what has been left

Acknowledge the other and end all this smother
Of who this child has been raised to be
Free her from these bonds by giving up this lie
Say to her sweetly the truth in the binds

Growing into knowing and loving in the drubbing
Resenting in the pinching of clinching of a short sighted plan
Let her run and be neither and both of us inside this land
Of Indian summers and European falls

She is my American native tumble weed tall
Dancing in the bubbles and proud for the trouble
Why all this disparity between what she knows is her now normality
Let this butterfly lift and soon your own pain

May be over with
